snagged my attention right from the beginning and didn't let go

A New Beginning is a debut novel for Brenda Kennedy. The story snagged my attention right from the beginning and didn't let go. The story does deal with abuse and may not be for everyone.
After running from an abusive relationship Angel relocates to sunny Florida where by a twist of fate, she literally runs into Mason. After their chance meeting, Mason is intrigued and wants to know more about the dark haired beauty. As fate steps in again and the pair reunite on a blind date the next day, the chemistry really begins to shine.
Angel is a bit shy and tries to hold back at first because of her former relationship. But Mason does everything he can to soften her up and break down her barriers. He shows her the utmost kindness and respect, and is there for her every step of the way.
Is the past ever really left behind? As the story reaches its climax, the past starts to catch up to Angel. Will Mason be able to help her overcome what haunts her? Will she be able to let him in enough to reveal her past to him? What happens when the past invades the present?
This is book 1 of a three part series and does end on a bit of a cliff hanger, as I said it grabbed my attention from the beginning and at the end left me wanting more. I can't wait to dive into book 2 and get more Mason and Angel.

Abrupt ending...left hanging

Very abrupt ending...cliffhanger. I don't appreciate that! I didn't enjoy the authors writing style enough to justify purchasing the next book.

Sooooo Disappointed

I support Indie authors, so hate to post a bad review. There were several things wrong with this book. First, I hate cliffhangers. I don't mind a trilogy, as long as each book can stand alone. This one cannot. You have to purchase two more before getting the HEA. I will not be doing that. The book was poorly written, when POV'S were changed, entire conversations were repeated. The writing style was pedantic, the characters poorly developed, and many scenes were too descriptive. This author could benefit from a good editor. Good luck to her, but I am not going to take the bait and purchase the remaining two.
